Photo shoot: Meet the puppies

The weather has been pretty nice lately, which yielded itself nicely to a puppy photo shoot. Enjoy!

And occupying our time this week...

The broken clavicle!!

Amar broke his clavicle this weekend whilst biking in the MS150. He has to wear a sling for a few weeks, but as you can see below, he's super excited about that:

Wish us luck. This could get interesting....

Project Table: Lacking the capacity to post photos

I'm happy to announce that Project Table is complete!!

However, I have been quite lazy and have not yet moved the pictures of the finished product from my camera to the computer. So, for now, you will have to use your imagination.

We got the glass delivered on Monday, and it's a nice finishing touch. I also purchased some chairs last Friday. Here is a picture of the chair we chose:

So, imagine 6 of those around the table and bingo, you've got it.

Seriously though, I'll try to post a final picture later today. Thanks for hanging in there with us!

Passing the time

If ever you find yourself with some minutes/hours/days to spare, then you should seriously give some consideration to reading through "Bushisms" on Slate.

Now, I mean no disrespect to the President. In fact, I'm truly amazed at what can come out of the man's mouth. These are just some of my favorites:
  • "These are big achievements for this country, and the people of Bulgaria ought to be proud of the achievements that they have achieved."—Sofia, Bulgaria, June 11, 2007

  • "My job is a job to make decisions. I'm a decision—if the job description were, what do you do—it's decision maker."—Tipp City, Ohio, April 19, 2007

  • "I can press when there needs to be pressed; I can hold hands when there needs to be—hold hands."—on how he can contribute to the Middle East peace process, Washington, D.C., Jan. 4, 2008

  • "As yesterday's positive report card shows, childrens do learn when standards are high and results are measured."—New York, Sept. 26, 2007

  • "More than two decades later, it is hard to imagine the Revolutionary War coming out any other way."—Martinsburg, W. Va., July 4, 2007

I know, I know...

You hunger for updates.

Updates specifically regarding Project Table.

Updates you shall have.

First of all, loyal fans, thank you for persevering. You have been patiently waiting in the wings, longing for news of the project completion, wanting to come and try your hand at dining in the midst of the new furniture.

Please accept my humble apologies, for I am a procrastinator.

Current Situation: Part 1
The glass.

It was ordered 2 weeks ago.
It was ready 1 week ago.
The store conveniently closes at 5:30.
The store conveniently is not open on the weekends.
The store conveniently does not offer delivery.

This is the perfect storm, and coincidentally, the perfect excuse for procrastination.

And if you will allow me to be completely honest here, I'm a bit scared of obtaining the glass. What if it breaks? What if we chip the edge? What if the table isn't level, thus causing excess stress on one area of the glass, and then I set a casserole dish down and BAM! It's busted!

And moving on...

The plan is that Amar and I will pick up the glass this week and figure out some way to squeeze it into the back of the Pathfinder. I measured the back of the Pathfinder and it is the exact same size as the glass. This could either be very good or very bad.

Current Situation: Part 2
The chairs.

After scouring the world wide web, we found some chairs that we dig. The only problem is that they are sold by an upscale retailer who wants us to put a down payment on half of Europe just to ship the chairs to us. This? I refuse to do.

So I'm going thrift shopping over the next few days to see if there's something else we can work out. Stay tuned.

Yes, I'm still here

I know that I haven't posted much lately. Some of you may have thought that we were trapped in our house by the tree that fell, and thus, unable to reach out to the internets. However, that was not the case.

We were trapped momentarily, and coincidentally, my work email was broken. So we were all but stranded. But then men with chainsaws visited, cut up our fallen foliage, and we were on our way....all for free! Having an insurance agent who is also in the good ol' boys club and is also your uncle: priceless

So, since then all things technology have been waging war on me. Although I was able to take a break from that and spend some time with a cute baby (pictures here). My friend Kim and I, during a nap time for both momma and baby, used our creative skills in baby styling to come up with the following:

Yep...don't ever leave us alone with your child. That's pretty much the lesson learned here.

More to come on the "getting smacked down by all things electronic" later...
